In the summer of 2012, a new phase of High Flight Farm was begun - the construction of a covered arena and twin barns on either side of the covered arena. Now, eight years later, the new parts of our facility are proving to be a great investment!
The 120' by 120' covered arena has footing that is washed river sand, like the dressage arena. Overhead LED lights for night riding have been a perfect addition, and is heavily used in the hot Atlanta summers! The covered arena is designed to accommodate two small dressage arenas, 20m by 40m, so that lessons can coincide with boarders who wish to ride out of the sun or in the late evening under the lights.
The twin barns are located to the east and west of the covered arena. Each barn has seven stalls, a feed room, laundry area, restroom, two tack rooms, equipment and storage areas, and a lounge for students and boarders. The west barn will have a viewing deck from its lounge to the covered arena, and the east barn will have a viewing deck from its lounge to the dressage arena.
Horses located in either the east barn or the west barn will turn out in one of four private paddocks off the west barn, or as a small herd in one of the three large pastures to the north of the new complex.
