High Flight Farm has a desire to help young people who are interested in horses, and we offer a working student program for select individuals. Generally these are children who live in our neighborhood and are assigned an evening to help with the horses. The minimum age to be an evening working student is 10 years old. Or, when school is out for the summer, they may be assigned a morning to help with the a.m. barn work, and be mentored by a staff member. That minimum age is 13, although special exceptions may be made. By learning about horses and how to care for them in a safe, structured environment, many of these youngsters go on to take riding lessons, own their own horse, and continue into adulthood to enjoy "Life with Horses". If you have a child you think may be interested in this program, please contact us by phone or e-mail.
